Senior Product Development Scientist

The Senior Product Development Scientist for Sabra Dipping Company provides scientific leadership & support to drive growth of Sabra's businesses. (Including Hummus, Guacamole and Salsas). The position offers a very unique, entrepreneurial opportunity to work closely with the Senior R&D Team; Marketing Team; Operations; and General Managers plus internal/external partners to guide day-product development activities while also impacting strategic direction on a category-leading brand. Major
Responsibilities:
Leads Development of new products to support the existing and new businesses. Functions as the R&D project lead.
Applies sound scientific methods in all stages of development, including planning and executing trials, analyzing data and defining solutions to reach product targets (flavor, texture etc.) at a specified cost.
Develops realistic timelines.
Exhibits a high degree of creativity in new product designs.
Collaborate with teams including strong interfaces with Marketing and Operations to develop new product concepts and product improvements/extensions to core portfolio.
Works with multi- site commercialization teams & brings food science and commercialization expertise to guide the local R&D/Operations teams through commercialization steps.
Strong interaction with marketing, sales, operations to deliver projects on time to meet business targets
This position will be one of the core expert positions at the COE supporting Obela & Sabra

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Five (5) or more years experience with food/CPG product development and innovation including Dairy
A demonstrated track record of major new product platform introductions in consumer facing companies
Cross-functional team leadership experience with internal and external partners and teams.
A broad technical background that includes exposure to short shelf life, refrigerated products. Solid knowledge and experience in food science, thermal processing & food safety is essential.
Technical problem-solving /commercialization experience to introduce consumer-facing innovations.
A strong record of project management successes that demonstrate an ability to keep things on track, identify issues, re-direct when necessary and deliver projects on time.

EDUCATION:
BS/MS/PhD in Food Science, Dairy Science or Chemical EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
